I’ve been wanting to make scones in such a long time.. and oh my, I am so happy I finally did. Trying them for the first time, I didnt’t expect them to turn out as amazing as they did, but HELLO, they were the best scones I have ever had..
Makes around 16 scones :
1 cup of oats 4 cups of spelt flour 3/4 of a cup of coconut sugar 125 g of ghee (you can also use 250 g of ghee, and leave out the coconut oil) 125 g of coconut oil (or use 250 g of coconut oil, and leave out the ghee) 1-2 tsp of salt 1/2 tsp of cinnamon 1/2 tsp of tumeric 1 1/2 cups of milk (I use oat)
Don't preheat the oven just yet, because you want the dough to sit for around 1-2 hours
Start with combining all the dry ingredients, and give it a good stir
Melt the ghee and coconut oil over low heat, then add it to the dry mass
Last you add the milk and give it another good stir
Let it sit for around 2 hours so that the dough can come together
Flour the surface, then spread out the dough and roll until 2-2,5 cm thick
Then cut into the wanted shape and put in the oven for around 12-13 minutes, until slightly golden
They taste great when they are fresh, so definitely have one as soon as they get out of the oven. I love eating them just plain, they have a such great taste, but you can also have them with jam, cream, yogurt… YUM !
