CHOCOLATE OATMEAL

As I may have mentioned before: I LOVE BREAKFAST. Its easily my favorite dish of the day, and I wish I could have it all times of the day, haha. Oatmeal is one of my favorites, regardless of the weather outside. So heres the recipe to one of my favorite versions at the moment.

 

 

Serves 1:

Step 1: Start by mixing together "the base" (what I use always - no matter what kind of oatmeal I go for):

  • 3 tbsp of oats

  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp of flax seeds

  • 250 ml of liquid (i use half oat milk, half water - you can use any milk though, and for a more creamy texture milk only)

  • Dash of cinnamon (or more if you love it like I do)

Add these ingredients to recreate my favorite oatmeal atm:

  • 1 tbsp of cacao powder

  • 1 tbsp of coconut sugar

  • 1-2 tbsp of coconut milk (optional)

 

Toppings: (add whatever you have at home - I've listed what I love to add most)

  • 1 small banana

  • Handful of berries

  • 1 tbsp of nut butter

  • 1 square of good quality dark chocolate (i use vivani 75% - sweetened with coconut sugar)

  1. Mix together all ingredients (but the toppings obviously), and let either sit overnight, or for at least 5 minutes before heating it in a pot

  2. Heat over medium heat, and stir every now and then to avoid oatmeal sticking to the pot

  3. Leave for about 5-10 minutes, depending on how thick/liquid you like it

  4. Then pour in a bowl, and top with your favorite things

  5. ENJOY
